Sally, age 49, damaged her knee when running at the gym at the beginning of June. Her knee was really swollen, she couldn’t put any weight on it and needed crutches to get around.

Sally went to see her GP, who referred her to see an orthopaedic consultant. She contacted her insurance company, Aviva, who gave her a list of consultants which she then googled - and finally decided on Mr Vedi, as he was the one who looked most impressive regarding knee injuries with good patient reviews.

Sally initially saw Mr Vedi at BMI The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor, where she had an MRI showing her cartilage was damaged and needed surgery. She delayed having surgery till she returned from holiday, and finally had this done at BMI Bishops Wood Hospital in the August. She had a knee arthroscopy day surgery – and was able to go home the same evening. She had a week off work, no driving for three weeks and crutches for three weeks – then she was crutch free.

Sally commented, “The operation (knee arthroscopy) has made a massive difference to my life. I couldn’t do anything before but now everything is back to normal. If I had anything happen again, I would definitely have it done privately and see Mr Vedi”.
