JonathanBy the age of 56, treatments for Jonathan’s complex medical history had led to long operations, extensive periods in hospitals and even longer recoveries.

A heavy fall directly onto his left knee led him back to treatment. "My experience with Mr Vedi showed him to be someone who not only is a master of his profession but also friendly and guiding when circumstances allow. He was my first and only choice."

The results of his MRI showed he had advanced arthritis to both of his knees and early arthritis to both of his feet. Both knees needed arthroscopies, a delaying action to put off having knee replacement surgery.

To Jonathan’s way of thinking the nSTRIDE procedure, an autologous protein injection, became a focal point of extending the benefits of arthroscopies. With his surgery covered by his private medical insurance Jonathan found that the nSTRIDE was not. So, after chatting through the options Jonathan went forward with both arthroscopy surgeries staggered five months apart (to have a good leg to walk on whilst the other recovered) with his mind-set fixed on the operations being a preparation for the nSTRIDE treatment.

A skiing accident twenty years previously meant he could no longer follow his main passions, to ski, ride, race, sail or run. He was determined to get as much of his life back as possible and that included having knees that full worked.

Jonathan had nSTRIDE injections into both knees at the same attendance at BMI Bishops Wood Hospital, which came seven months and three months respectively after his arthroscopies.

Recovery for the earlier knee came first, followed sometime later by the later knee. Mr Vedi had made him aware that this staggered recovery was an occasional experience. Jonathan already knew that some people recovered almost immediately, others took longer and that very few felt little improvement. Every knock, twist, locking was a concern. But six months on, having followed his physiotherapy he has substantially recovered.

He concludes, "It’s now eighteen months later and both knees are still completely fine. My trust in both Mr Vedi and nSTRIDE was very well placed. I am so glad I met him, so happy we discussed this procedure, and I am utterly overjoyed with the outcome. I currently kneel down and stand up with no support or floundering whilst having zero pain. I walk a minimum 5,000 steps per day, frequently exceeding 20,000 with no knee pain at all. Even though I have an awful diet, I am, (post lockdown) five stone over my perfect weight but my knees are still performing at 99% perfect, compared to 10-20% beforehand."

"Thank you Mr Vedi. You have completely changed my life for the better. I have recommended both you personally and the nSTRIDE procedure when close family and friends have raised similar concerns."
