Margaret, age 57, from Rickmansworth, had been experiencing real problems with her knees. It was suggested in her 30s she may have osteoarthritis.

For three years leading to her bilateral knee replacements, walking was becoming more and more difficult – and it got to the stage that she could hardly walk further than 5-10 minutes at a time.

Margaret went to see her GP who recommended Mr Vedi – so she googled him and was very impressed with his patient reviews - it gave her the confidence in his ability and professionalism.

She initially tried steroid injections and they discussed PRP injections, but once she had had an Xray, it revealed the extremity of the osteoarthritis in both knees – both were equally as bad. She had a total knee replacement on her left knee in August 2018 and then her right knee replaced in January 2019.

Both times she stayed three nights at BMI Bishops Wood Hospital. She was on both crutches for about a week and then down to one after that. She had the mandatory but necessary physiotherapy – 13 sessions, one per week initially and then upscaling to two a week in the latter weeks. Within three weeks she no longer needed crutches.

Margaret said, “I was so impressed with Mr Vedi. He’s very honest and straightforward but obviously deeply compassionate and cares about what he does. I had had an added complication, unrelated to my surgery, which meant I needed to see a Plastic Surgeon. Mr Vedi came into the operation with the surgeon, Mr Toft, to see how I was doing. The collusion between them was brilliant and he proved he completely had my interests at heart.”

And she concludes, “I feel I am back facing the world as my old self again. If I hadn’t of had the operations, I would probably be reliant on a mobility scooter by now. But instead, I’m back swimming and I can walk 2-3 miles a day. My next goal is to play golf again in the new year. Thank you so much Mr Vedi.”
